When editing or reviewing a roof surface, the software automatically calculates edge lengths corrected for the true pitched surface, not just the flat plan view.
How It Works
Base Edge (Gutter Reference)
The first drawn edge is treated as the base edge.
Its bearing defines the reference direction for all other edges.
Pitch Adjustment
A pitch angle (roof tilt) can be set per surface.
Edge lengths are corrected so that they reflect the actual length along the roof plane.
Formula Used
For an edge at angle Δ to the base edge, with pitch θ:
Δ = angular difference to base edge
θ = pitch angle
Edges parallel to base remain unchanged.
Edges at an angle are corrected for the slope.
Labels
Length labels are shown at the midpoint of edges.
Updates happen in real time while dragging vertices.
Duplicate labels along shared edges are automatically avoided.
